Hatua students from Form One to Form Three enjoyed great mentoring sessions during the August holiday.
Form One students received mentoring on financial literacy from Save the Children and Post Bank. They were taught about the importance of saving, budgeting, and proper management of their finances. “After their training,
we helped them open smart accounts with Post Bank where they can save their little money” said Winnie Muthina, Hatua’s mentoring and career guide Coordinator.
Our Form Twos learned about relationships, puberty, HIV, and the rights of children to be protected from abuse. Form Threes focused on Kenya’s new Constitution, devolved government, and the roles of citizens in promoting and protecting democracy.
Mentoring continued for two weeks and included lunch each day. Friday’s were particularly fun, as
we all left the classroom and headed for the football
pitch to play games together.
