Hatua Network’s inaugural charity golf tournament raised Ksh1.3m that will go a long way in supporting the education of students in the Hatua Scholarship Program. Being a first of its kind, we had lots of learning experiences. We are sincerely grateful for the support from individuals and corporate institutions that joined the worthy cause of raising funds towards educating top performing and deserving students from low-income backgrounds in Mombasa. The event brought together more than 70 golfers, 30 corporate institutions, Hatua alumni and team in a daylong event that culminated in an award ceremony on the eve of February 23rd at Nyali Golf and Country Club. A big thank you to the title sponsor Petro Oil Kenya Ltd for the bold step in supporting our cause. We cannot forget to acknowledge other major supporters like Capital Reef Ltd, Mombasa Maize Millers, Grain Bulk Handlers, Overdrive Consultants K Ltd, Seaforth Shipping (K), Cesscolina, Braeburn, EATTA, Base Titanium, Rotary Club of Mombasa, Mamujee Brothers Foundation and AMI Worldwide for your love to educate young students.
We also send our immense gratitude to Nyali Golf and Country Club for hosting our event and promising to do it again next year. Congratulations to Aamen Dhanji and Mary Kandu for winning the male and female categories respectively.
As we plan for next year, we wish all of you the very best in your endeavors and hoping to see you then.
Once again, asante sana to everyone who made the event a success! Helen Njoroge and Captain Willy Mbote, thanks for the passion and dedication that saw the event soar. Till next year and on behalf of the students who will benefit directly from the proceeds, we will continue reaching out to vulnerable youth in our communities, helping them transform their lives from poverty to professional careers.
